Prostatitis is when the prostate becomes inflamed, which can make the prostate feel sore and irritated. Sometimes it’s very painful, and can severely effect on your quality of life. It can happen at any age, and affects around one in six men at some stage. Possible symptoms include pain when urinating, needing to urinate urgently or more often than normal, lower back pain, pain at the base of scrotum and penis, cold chills, fever and muscular pain.
